Delhi’s Nest Man Holds A Record Of Making 1.25 Lakh Nests All Over The Country!

The chirping of birds has a soothing effect on the soul, but the city’s shore has drowned their voices, and the urban jungles have stolen their home. But we just heard about this gentleman who’s saving birds with one nest at a time!

‘Dilli Hai Dilwale Ki! | Rakesh Khatri has been popularly recognized as the ‘Nest Man .’ As the name suggests, his initiative is about providing homes to birds. This Delhi resident started his journey of saving birds by building them houses from eco-friendly materials. His hard work has garnered attention and appreciation from people interested in helping him with this noble cause.

Did you know his first attempt where he used coconut shells to make a nest actually failed? Yep, no birds were ready to make a home in these shells, and so this motivated him to continue to experiment with materials that would be suitable for birds.

Now, he uses bamboo sticks, jute threads, and even husks to make nests. He holds the record of making 1.25 lakhs nest for birds all over India which have bestowed the name of nest man on him. Plus, he has also been awarded a place in the Limca Book Of Records for the highest number of workshops to teach participants ‘How To Make A Nest’ throughout the country.

He runs an organization called Eco Roots Foundation that conducts these workshops all across India, and it’s the work by people like him who continue to restore our faith in humanity.

We are definitely intrigued and would love to be a part of this initiative. What about you?
