PMC’s Anniversary Celebration: Fruit, Flower, and Vegetable Exhibition On February 11 And 12

41st Fruits, Flowers and Vegetables Competition and Exhibition on the occasion of the anniversary of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) have been organized at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Garden, Jangli Maharaj Road, Shivajinagar, Pune from February 11 and 12, 2023. The opening ceremony of this exhibition will be held on February 11 at 11 am.

Every year PMC organizes such exhibitions of flowers, fruits, vegetables, trees, or plants and also to assist private and public organizations to organize such exhibitions and to create public awareness about the importance of trees and plants in human life.

The exhibition has a total of 218 sections of different things. They include decorative flower pot arrangements, herb collection, rose flower arrangements, seasonal flowers, table decorations, different types of flowers, vegetables, salad decorations for women in self-help groups, fruits, processed vegetables, different types of garlands, bouquets, mussels, flower braids, etc will be exhibited.

Different types of dahlia, orchid, anthurium, gerbera rose, carnation, etc seasonal as well as perennial flowers of the species are the main attraction of the exhibition. In this exhibition, replicas of different types of gardens will be prepared for viewing.

The prize distribution ceremony of the winners who participate in the various competitions will be held on February 12 at 5 pm.

Mainly, Pune University, Metro, River Improvement Project, NDA, CME, Forest Department, Pune Snake Science Institute, Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Museum, Environment Center Pushkarni Uttara Environment Center, Lonavala, Tilak Ayurveda College Fredens of Bonsai, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, etc institutions will participate.

The exhibition includes bonsai, wood sculpture features garden, sustainable items from waste, paper crafts, various floral arrangements, etc citizens will get to see. Also, concepts such as saving trees, and maximum use of bicycles will be implemented. Nature’s Biodiversity Photograph by Rajvardhan Patil, Aundh to be installed at ‘Selfie Point’. This year is the 12th consecutive year of a photo exhibition in a vegetable exhibition on the occasion of the PMC anniversary. A separate gallery will be kept for viewing the photographs.

In this exhibition, there will be stalls selling flowers, fruits, tree seedlings, gardening materials, seeds, and fertilizers, and will be open for citizens on February 11 and 12, 2023 from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. Citizens should note that the said exhibition is open free of cost to the citizens and maximum citizens should take advantage of it.
