AI Now Scans Your Emails to Automatically Track Purchases and Deliveries, Making Wallet a True Shopping Hub
Order Tracking Gets a Real Upgrade in iOS 26
Apple has quietly had an order tracking feature in the Wallet app since iOS 16, but few people ever noticed it. Why? Because it relied heavily on merchant support—and most retailers simply didn’t bother integrating.
With iOS 26, that changes. Thanks to Apple Intelligence, Wallet’s order tracking is finally useful, transforming into a central hub for your purchases and deliveries.
How It Works: Apple Intelligence Meets Wallet
In iOS 26, Apple Intelligence scans your email inbox for order confirmations and shipping updates. It can now:
- Extract shipping details from emails sent by merchants and delivery carriers.
- Auto-populate Wallet’s Order Tracking page with relevant information.
- Show merchant names, order status, delivery details, and tracking links.
This means any online purchase that generates a confirmation email is eligible—no special merchant support required.
⚠️ Note: The AI-powered feature is exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 series, iPhone 17 series, and iPhone Air. Older models won’t support Apple Intelligence.
How to Enable Order Tracking in iOS 26
To activate the AI-enhanced order tracking:
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Navigate to Apps ➝ Wallet.
- Scroll down and tap Order Tracking.
- Toggle on Apple Pay (for automatic order addition).
- Toggle on Mail (Beta) to allow Apple Intelligence to scan emails.
Once enabled, your purchases will begin appearing automatically in Wallet.
Finding and Managing Your Orders in Wallet
To check your orders:
- Open the Wallet app.
- Tap the More icon (three dots) in the top-right corner.
- Select Orders from the dropdown menu.
- Browse your orders, which are organized by month and year.
For each order, you’ll see:
- Merchant name and details
- Order status (processing, shipped, delivered)
- Tracking information when available
You can also:
- Tap an order for detailed shipping updates.
- Mark an order as complete once delivered.
- Mute notifications for a specific order.
- Delete an order if you no longer want it in Wallet.
Why It Matters
For years, Wallet’s order tracking was underutilized. With iOS 26, it finally delivers on its promise of being a centralized hub for purchases. Apple Intelligence ensures that tracking isn’t limited by merchant support, but instead works for virtually any email-confirmed order.
This improvement aligns Wallet with consumer habits, making it a true digital shopping companion.
