Cloaked Adds AI Caller Filter and Breach Detection to Protect Your Identity

As spam and scam calls grow more sophisticated, Cloaked debuts Call Guard and real-time breach alerts to protect digital identities

Cloaked Expands Its Identity Protection Suite with Smart Call Defense

Cloaked, a privacy-first consumer app backed by Lux Capital, is taking on the rising wave of spam, scams, and AI-driven robocalls with a new feature called Call Guard. Launched today, this AI-powered caller screening tool screens unknown calls, chats with the caller to determine their intent, and filters out unwanted conversations — all before the user picks up.

Unlike standard call filters that rely on static blocklists or simple scripts, Call Guard uses natural language understanding to detect scam patterns and respond dynamically. The feature positions Cloaked against tech giants like Google and Apple, which offer similar functionality on their platforms — but without as much personalization.

“We are trying to understand the intent of the caller using AI, not just ask their name,” said Arjun Bhatnagar, CEO of Cloaked. “We’re now seeing spam calls from bad AI agents. Our agent is being trained to counter that.”

Live Transcripts and Seamless Control

The real-time transcript feature allows users to monitor the AI’s conversation and jump in if the call turns out to be relevant. The tool leverages Cloaked’s infrastructure for masked phone numbers and call forwarding, offering a seamless privacy buffer without compromising usability.

In the near future, Cloaked aims to expand this functionality by offering AI-powered outbound calls, where agents can wait on hold with customer service or schedule appointments — tasks that typically burn user time.

New Layer of Security: Dark Web Monitoring

Cloaked is also launching a dark web surveillance tool that tracks exposed personal information, including:

  • Emails and phone numbers
  • Addresses and Social Security numbers
  • Passports, licenses, and family relationships

The monitoring system tracks leaks across data brokers, breach sites, Telegram groups, Discord servers, and dark web forums, with alerts categorized by recency and severity.

Users get proactive alerts when their information is compromised and can take action directly within the app.

Automated Data Deletion: A Step Toward Online Anonymity

As part of its privacy strategy, Cloaked includes a data deletion program that helps users erase their information from the web. The platform sends programmatic and legal removal requests to data brokers and compromised websites. So far, it claims to have facilitated the deletion of more than 170 million user records.

Fast-Growing Privacy Platform with AI at Its Core

Since January 2025, Cloaked has added over 100,000 paying users, fueled by growing concerns around data breaches, spam, and surveillance. With $40 million in total funding, including a recent $11 million top-up from existing and undisclosed new investors, Cloaked plans to launch additional tools this year — including an eSIM product for anonymized mobile use.

“We want to be a long-term identity companion — a layer between users and the internet,” Bhatnagar added.

With a feature roadmap that includes AI agents for outbound calls and customizable automation across communication workflows, Cloaked is increasingly positioning itself as a privacy-centric alternative to mainstream communication apps.
