Changing the Theme Color Mode to Light on X
- Open X in your web browser.
- Sign in to your account if you haven’t already.

- Select Settings and privacy from the menu.
- Navigate to Accessibility, display & languages.
- Click on Display.
- Choose the Default option under the “Background” section to switch to light mode. (Illustration of X web settings for changing color modes)
Once these steps are completed, X will display in light mode, providing a brighter interface compared to the default dark theme.
Additional Display Options
In the Display settings, you also have the option to adjust the font size to be either smaller or larger. Additionally, you can change the default blue color scheme to a different color, giving you further customization options for your viewing experience.
Note on Mobile Apps
It’s worth mentioning that while the web version of X has undergone these changes, the Android app still allows you to switch color modes directly from the profile menu.
In a nutshell
Switching X to light mode on the web might require navigating through the settings menu, but it’s a straightforward process once you know where to look. Let us know in the comments whether you prefer dark or light mode for your X experience!
