iOS 27 Includes More Than Siri: Here’s What Apple Didn’t Highlight

Apple focused much of its WWDC 2026 presentation on Siri and Apple Intelligence, but iOS 27 also includes a number of smaller features that were not highlighted onstage.

The additions touch widgets, Messages, Weather, Camera, Wallet and other built-in apps.

Home screen and sound controls

Users can now add full-screen widgets to the Home Screen, making information such as calendars and news easier to view at a glance.

iOS 27 also introduces separate volume controls for:

  • Alarms.
  • Timers.
  • Alerts.
  • System sounds.

The settings can be adjusted by going to:

  • Settings
  • Sounds & Haptics

Users must disable the “Match Ringtone Volume” option before manually adjusting the sliders.

Clipboard improvements

Apple is simplifying copy-and-paste actions.

When text or screenshots are stored in the clipboard, users will see a keyboard option to paste them, similar to how one-time passcodes from Messages can be inserted automatically.

Weather app redesign

The Weather app is receiving several updates.

New features include:

  • A Highlights section showing notable upcoming events.
  • Easier switching between Conditions, Precipitation and Wind views.

More customization in Messages

Users can now choose how voice features appear in Messages.

Options include:

  • Showing a voice recording button.
  • Showing a dictation button.
  • Hiding both controls.

Messages is also adding a new Drawing feature.

Users will be able to:

  • Sketch notes.
  • Create diagrams.
  • Send drawings to others.

Camera and emoji changes

Camera controls have been redesigned.

Quick access is now available for:

  • Depth settings.
  • Grid controls.
  • Level controls.

Other interface changes include:

  • A small scroll bar on the emoji keyboard.
  • A redesigned slider for timers activated from Control Center.

Find My and Wallet updates

The Find My app now lets users temporarily hide their location from a specific person without notifying them.

Users can choose how long the location remains hidden.

Apple is also allowing users to create their own custom passes in the Wallet app.

CarPlay and iCloud additions

According to a Reddit user cited in the report, CarPlay now supports audio scrubbing.

iOS 27 also adds manual syncing for:

  • Files.
  • Photos.
  • Health data.

Calendar gets smarter

Calendar can now detect holidays and ask users whether they want to keep alarms scheduled for those dates.

TL;DR

Beyond the headline AI announcements, iOS 27 adds full-screen widgets, new Messages controls, clipboard improvements, custom Wallet passes, temporary location hiding in Find My and several interface changes across Apple’s apps.
