One UI 8 Elevates Do Not Disturb with Prominent Now Bar Integration

Modernized Do Not Disturb Notification in One UI 8
With the upcoming One UI 8 update, Samsung has given Do Not Disturb (DND) a new, more visible home in the interface by integrating it with the Now Bar feature.
- This update means that whenever Do Not Disturb is active, a dedicated notification will appear on both the lock screen and the Always On Display, labeled “On” for clear awareness.
- Users can now quickly see and manage their DND status at a glance, improving the overall usability and visibility of the feature.
Enhanced Scheduling and Customization
Samsung continues to support advanced scheduling for Do Not Disturb:
- Users can schedule DND to activate during specific times, such as sleep hours, and even set it to repeat on a daily or weekly basis.
- You can make exceptions for important contacts, apps, alarms, and sounds, ensuring you never miss crucial notifications even when DND is active.
Effortless Control from the Lock Screen
With One UI 8’s Now Bar integration, you can:
- Tap the notification on the lock screen to expand the Now Bar, then turn off Do Not Disturb—without unlocking your phone.
- When DND is set to “Until I turn it off,” the notification remains visible until manually disabled.
- If a scheduled time is set, the Now Bar will show how long DND will remain active.
Improved User Experience
This change replaces the old-school task bar icon with a modern, interactive element, bringing DND controls front and center for quick, effortless access.
- The feature is now both easier to manage and harder to overlook, reducing the risk of missing important calls or reminders due to unnoticed silent mode.
