Samsung Drops India, China, and Poland from One UI 8 Beta Wave 1 Rollout
Fewer Countries Included in First Phase of Galaxy S25 Beta Program
Samsung has officially kicked off the One UI 8 Beta Program for the Galaxy S25 series in May 2025, but unlike in previous years, the company has significantly reduced the number of countries included in the Wave 1 rollout.
Fewer Countries in One UI 8 Beta Phase 1
Historically, Samsung’s beta programs included up to seven countries in the initial phase—namely:
- South Korea
- United States
- United Kingdom
- Germany
- India
- China
- Poland
However, for One UI 8, Samsung has limited the Wave 1 rollout to just four countries:
- South Korea
- United States
- United Kingdom
- Germany
This means India, China, and Poland—previously part of the first wave—have been excluded from the initial beta testing round.
Possible Reasons Behind the Shift
Samsung has not released an official explanation, but industry observers speculate that:
- The move is intended to streamline the beta process
- It may help Samsung avoid delays similar to those seen during the One UI 7 Beta rollout
- Fewer countries and devices allow for faster feedback cycles and a more polished final release
Hope for Expansion
There are early signs of a Phase 2 rollout:
- Beta forum pages for India and Poland have quietly appeared on Samsung’s regional sites
- This suggests these countries may be added in the next beta wave, possibly in June
- However, no indicators yet point to China being included anytime soon
One UI 8: Worth the Wait?
Despite the limited rollout, One UI 8 brings notable enhancements, including:
- Improved Galaxy AI features
- A redesigned Quick Share and Reminder app
- Multimodal AI, smarter automation, and UX refinements tailored to various devices
Galaxy fans in the dropped countries will likely have to wait a little longer, but expansion is expected soon based on past patterns.
