Samsung Wraps Up One UI 8 Rollout — Here’s What Galaxy Users Got

With Android 16 in tow, One UI 8 brings visual upgrades, deeper customization, and improved performance — as Samsung gears up for One UI 8.5

Samsung Finalizes One UI 8 Rollout for Galaxy S Series

After nearly two months of gradual deployment, Samsung has officially completed the One UI 8 rollout in the United States for all eligible Galaxy S phones. The process began back in September with the Galaxy S25 series and concluded recently with the arrival of the Android 16-based update for the Galaxy S21 FE.

  • The Galaxy S21 FE was the final model in the S21 lineup to receive the update, marking the full completion of Samsung’s U.S. rollout.
  • The rollout timeline showcases Samsung’s commitment to timely updates, especially with Android 16 enhancements on board.

All Supported Galaxy S Models Now Updated

Samsung had previously shared a list of U.S.-eligible devices for One UI 8. The Galaxy S21 FE stood out as the only S21 model to receive the update.

  • One UI 8 was pushed to a wide range of models:
    • Galaxy S25 series (FE, Edge, Ultra, +, base)
    • Galaxy S24 series (Ultra, +, base, FE)
    • Galaxy S23 series (Ultra, +, base, FE)
    • Galaxy S22 series (Ultra, +, base)
    • Galaxy S21 FE

This comprehensive rollout ensures nearly all recent Galaxy S users benefit from Android 16’s capabilities and Samsung’s design overhaul.

Key Features of One UI 8

One UI 8 is more than just a visual refresh. It includes functionality upgrades, deeper customization, and system performance enhancements.

  • Adaptive Clock: A standout lock screen feature offering font variety for a personalized, modern look.
  • Home Up Enhancements: Improved animations and gesture tuning for smoother interactions.
  • Icon & Wallpaper Customization: More control over icon appearance and transitions, delivering a refined visual experience.
  • Android 16 Boost: Increases system security, stability, and app performance, along with better battery optimization.

These features together make the UI more fluid, responsive, and tailored to user preferences.

Samsung Already Working on One UI 8.5

Even as One UI 8 wraps up, Samsung isn’t slowing down. The company is already preparing the next major update — One UI 8.5, also based on Android 16.

  • Expected announcement: March 2026
  • Rollout to older Galaxy models: May 2026

Samsung hints that One UI 8.5 will be a significant leap forward, likely incorporating new customization tools, AI-powered features, and advanced performance refinements.
