Samsung Leaves Indian Users Out of One UI 8 Beta—Again
Despite growing demand, India excluded from initial Android 16 beta rollout
India left behind as One UI 8 Beta launches elsewhere
Samsung has officially kicked off the One UI 8 Beta Program in the US, UK, South Korea, and Germany, offering early access to Android 16 features on the Galaxy S25 series. But once again, Indian Galaxy users—despite forming one of Samsung’s largest user bases—have been excluded from the initial rollout.
The omission has drawn criticism from long-time users in India who were eager to participate and contribute feedback to improve the software before public release.
Early access comes with feedback value
Beta programs like One UI 8 give users a sneak peek at new features before the official release.
- Participants provide real-world feedback to help Samsung identify and fix bugs.
- In return, users get early access to experimental features, performance enhancements, and updated UI animations.
However, this privilege seems reserved for select markets, creating frustration among Indian users who feel left out of Samsung’s global testing roadmap.
Global excitement, local disappointment
Samsung recently sent out beta notifications via the Members app, which appeared globally—even in regions not included in the program.
- This sparked hope among Indian users, who shared the news across forums and social platforms.
- The official launch, however, confirmed only four countries, excluding India and other large markets in Asia.
This pattern is not new. One UI 7 Beta, for instance, did eventually launch in India—but with a delay of over two weeks compared to initial markets.
No official explanation from Samsung
Samsung has not provided a reason for excluding India from Phase 1 of the One UI 8 Beta rollout.
- The company may be following its usual strategy of staggered release cycles, but the lack of transparency continues to disappoint local users.
- With India being a major market for Samsung, especially for flagship devices, its exclusion feels increasingly out of place.
What’s next for Indian Galaxy users?
There’s still hope that India will be included in the second phase of the beta program.
- If Samsung follows the One UI 7 timeline, users could expect access within a few weeks—possibly during the Beta 2 release window.
- For now, users are encouraged to monitor the Samsung Members app for region-specific updates or official announcements.
