Galaxy A55 and A36 Receive July 2025 Security Patch
Samsung has released the July 2025 security update for two of its popular mid-range phones—Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A36. This update strengthens system security, improves device stability, and lays the groundwork for future One UI upgrades.
- Galaxy A55 build version: A556BXXS9BYF3
- Galaxy A36 build version: A366USQS3AYG1
- Update size: Approximately 300MB
Currently, the update is live in Europe for the Galaxy A55 and in the US for the Galaxy A36, with a wider rollout expected in the coming weeks.
What’s Improved in This Update
The update brings targeted enhancements across several key system functions:
- Knox Security: Strengthens Samsung’s defense-grade security layer.
- Galaxy Watch System Interface: Improves integration and communication between your phone and Galaxy Watch.
- Samsung Account Services: Optimizes login security and account syncing.
- Wi-Fi & Bluetooth: Refines password protection and device connectivity.
- Emergency SOS: Enhances reliability and response accuracy during emergency triggers.
Though focused on security, these updates also make the devices more stable and responsive, ensuring a smoother user experience.
Android 15 + One UI 7: A Transitional Phase
This patch is based on Android 15 with One UI 7, which remains the current stable platform for both devices. However, Samsung is already testing One UI 8 internally for the A-series.
- The stable One UI 8 rollout is expected to begin after July 30, starting with the Galaxy S25 series.
- Once stable for flagships, One UI 8 will be extended to mid-range devices like the A55 and A36 in subsequent waves.
This makes the July patch particularly important—it prepares both devices for faster transition and smoother adoption of future updates.
