Apple is bringing several new AI-powered editing tools to its Photos app, expanding the capabilities of Apple Intelligence.
The company announced the features during WWDC 2026 on Monday.
New Reframe feature
A new spatial editing tool called Reframe uses AI to adjust the composition of photos.
According to Apple, the feature can help correct issues such as:
- Objects appearing awkwardly in the background.
- Slightly off-center compositions.
- Missed eye contact with a subject.
Users can touch and drag images to alter the perspective as though the camera had been positioned differently when the photo was taken.
The changes can be previewed in real time.

Users can pinch to zoom out or adjust the crop to reveal more of the scene.
Cleanup receives an upgrade
The company’s existing Cleanup feature is also being improved.
The updated tool uses generative AI to produce more realistic results when removing unwanted objects or distractions.
Users can:
- Tap objects.
- Brush over areas.
- Circle items they want removed.
Apple said the enhancements are intended to improve image quality and produce more natural-looking fills.
