Notion has restored access to Anthropic’s AI models after a temporary disruption affected users of its AI-powered productivity tools.
Early Sunday, the company said Claude Opus 4.7 and Claude Opus 4.8 were experiencing degraded performance, resulting in a higher number of failures for users who selected those models in Notion AI.
In response, Notion temporarily disabled all Anthropic models.
Temporary outage
About 12 hours later, Max Schoening, Notion’s head of product, said the issue was caused by a short-lived service disruption.
“I’m astonished at the amount of people RT-ing this because they want a story around model quality to be the reason,” Schoening wrote on X.
“The degraded performance was a temporary service disruption. This happens. It happens to Notion, GitHub, AWS, your OpenClaw, and everything in between.”
He added that access to Anthropic’s models had been restored.
Anthropic confirms issue resolved
An Anthropic spokesperson also described the problem as a temporary infrastructure issue.
“A brief infrastructure issue caused elevated errors on multiple Claude models for a short period of time,” the spokesperson said.
“The issue has since been resolved. We’re grateful to our users for their patience while we worked to restore service.”
