Anthropic’s newly released Claude Fable 5 is already being used to generate video games and other software projects with a single prompt, according to early experiments by AI researcher Ethan Mollick.
Fable 5, unveiled Tuesday, is the first publicly available version of Anthropic’s Mythos model.
Strong early impressions
Mollick, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania, said the model delivered some of the best results he has seen from a publicly available AI system.
In a post on his Substack, he wrote that Fable “outperformed basically every other public model I have used by a considerable margin.”
He added that the model was “capable across many problems and produced some startling results — it would work up to a dozen hours executing on multi-page specifications.”
One prompt, several games
Using Claude Code, Mollick said he generated multiple games from a single initial prompt.
Among them was Snake, a Pac-Man-style game in which players control a constantly moving snake that collects apples.
He also created Strata, a game set in a network of underground tunnels where players light lanterns while exploring.
Another project, Duino, drew inspiration from Rainer Maria Rilke’s Duino Elegies.

Beyond games
Mollick also used Fable 5 to create an isochronic map, a visualization showing travel times between locations.
