Anthropic has teamed up with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to accelerate the deployment of its artificial intelligence models across enterprises.
As part of the partnership, TCS will establish a dedicated business unit focused on implementing Anthropic’s AI offerings for customers.
The arrangement will also give TCS early access to new model releases, allowing the company to build expertise around Anthropic’s technology.
Claude to reach 50,000 TCS employees
TCS said it will provide Claude, Anthropic’s AI assistant, to more than 50,000 employees.
The companies plan to jointly develop AI solutions for industries including:
- Financial services
- Healthcare
- Telecommunications
- Aviation
Expansion beyond enterprise clients
The partnership will extend to several TCS businesses and platforms.
Among them:
- Diligenta, TCS’s UK-based life and pensions business serving more than 22 million customers, plans to use Claude for customer service and process automation.
- TCS iON, the company’s digital learning platform, will offer training and certification programmes focused on Anthropic’s models.
TCS also said it will contribute tools to Anthropic’s Claude Code ecosystem, including capabilities for:
- Claims adjudication
- Lending advisory
AI firms seek enterprise channels
Major AI companies have increasingly turned to India’s IT services sector to expand their reach among enterprise customers.
Anthropic earlier partnered with Infosys, while OpenAI has announced similar arrangements with Infosys and HCLTech.
India remains a priority market
Anthropic has identified India as its second-largest market.
Over the past year, the company has:
- Opened an office in India
- Hired for leadership positions
- Strengthened ties with large IT services companies
Industry faces AI questions
The deal comes at a time when investors and technology companies are debating the impact of AI on India’s $315-billion IT services industry.
Shares of TCS and Infosys have declined about 34 per cent and 31 per cent, respectively, so far this year.
