2021 Triumph Speed Twin Unveiled With More Power & Poise

Triumph Motorcycles has revealed the 2021 Speed Twin with increased performance, more tech, and tonnes of new notable upgrades.

Visually, the Speed Twin is as pleasing to look at as other models in the Bonneville range. It has a great mix of classic roadster design with modern elements like the all-LED lights.

While the circular headlight, signature-shaped 14.5-liter fuel tank, bar-end mirrors, and brushed stainless steel upswept silencers grab one’s attention immediately, there are much more details on the bike to savor.

Anodised headlamp mounts, brushed aluminum parts like the mudguards, side panel finishers and heel guards, Monza fuel cap, anodized aluminum swingarm, and the bench seat all add to the premium looks.

Its twin clocks look old school but incorporate a digital menu system that can be accessed by the scroll button mounted on the tapered handlebar.

For 2021, Triumph has given the Speed Twin’s 1200cc twin-cylinder engine a lighter crankshaft and alternator, new pistons, cam profile, and revised ports.

As a result, the motor makes 100 PS maximum power (3 PS more) at 7250 RPM, 112 Nm of peak torque at 4250 RPM, and also revs 500 RPM higher than before. A gearbox is a 6-speed unit.

Triumph claims to have made a number of upgrades to make the motorcycle handle better, including fitting it with new 43 mm inverted Marzocchi front forks with cartridge damping and twin rear shocks with adjustable spring preload.

Braking performance comes from Brembo 4-piston M50 radial monobloc calipers and twin 320 mm discs up front, Nissin 2-piston floating caliper with 220 mm disc does duty at the rear, and ABS fitted as standard.

The 2021 Triumph Speed Twin has 12-spoke 17-inch cast-aluminum wheels with new Metzeler Racetec RR tires (120/70-section at the front and 160/60-section at the back).

Notably, the Speed Twin is also equipped with techs such as ride-by-wire, riding modes (Rain, Road, and Sport), traction control, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), while an under-seat USB charging socket and an immobilizer is also offered.

Like every Triumph motorcycle, the 2021 Speed Twin also comes with several accessories, 50 of them to be precise, and they come with a 2-year warranty too.
