2022 Lexus NX Revealed With Styling Upgrades & More Tech

Lexus has revealed the 2022 NX with evolutionary styling changes, bucket loads of latest features and of course, up-to-date engines.

Some might, upon having taken a brief look at the second-generation NX, deem it as a facelift of the old model due to the design theme being similar.

However, Lexus has changed the styling of the vehicle and has taken design inspiration from the LF-Z EV concept.

Up front, there are new headlights, a revised radiator grille, and restyled side air intakes, while along the sides, although the window area remains similar, the body panels are new.

At the rear, the LED tail lamps are connected by a light bar, and once again, the profile looks rather similar. Like many automakers, Lexus has also spelled out its name, rather than just sticking with the brand logo.

Things are much more different on the inside, thanks to the way digital screens have been added to car interiors in recent times.

The new dashboard houses a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen (customers can opt for a 14-inch screen as well), a digital instrument cluster and a new multi-function steering wheel.

Lexus has packed in all of the latest features one would expect in a car such as the 2022 NX and this includes wireless device charger, ambient lighting, voice recognition, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 10-speaker premium sound system and more.

Non-hybrid engine options offered with the 2022 Lexus NX include a 2.4-litre turbo petrol (279 HP and 430 Nm) and 2.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol (205 HP and 250 Nm).

Plug-in hybrid engine variants (350h and 450h+) both make use of the 2.5-litre NA petrol. In the 350h model the output is rated at 242 HP, while the 450h+ has 306 HP. The hybrids come with 58 km electric-only range as well.

The engines are paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is offered in some variants as well. Being a new age car, a bevy of safety features will all be present on the 2022 Lexus NX.

Expect the luxury SUV to be launched in India in the near future and be priced more than the current model which costs from Rs. 58.20 lakhs (ex-showroom).
