2023 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Launched, Priced From Rs. 7.99 Lakhs

Maruti Suzuki has launched the much-awaited 2023 Brezza for a price starting from Rs. (ex-showroom). This is the second generation model of the popular Vitara Brezza and has shed its ‘Vitara’ name. This time, Maruti Suzuki has changed every bit of the compact SUV.

The car looks wider and proportionate like a proper SUV now and has interesting design elements. At the front, there’s a chunky graphite black strip with the Suzuki logo embedded at the centre.

The trapezoidal matte black bottom grille is split by the bumper element which houses the front number plate. In fact, the car looks like an EV with minimal grille elements.

The Brezza gets a total of 11 variants starting from the base LXI Manual to the top-end ZXI+ Dual Tone Automatic.

The ZXI and ZXI+ get dual-LED projector headlamps with floating DRLs and auto headlamps with follow-me-home and lead-me-to-vehicle features. They gel well with the graphite-coloured strip that also houses 2 chrome inserts on top.

The LED fog lamps, however, will be available only on the ZXI+. The LXI and VXI variants get bi-halogen projector headlamps instead of LEDs.

The front skid plates are, again, chunky and get the usual brushed silver finish. The matte black rugged body cladding has been carried forward from the existing car, further accentuating the SUV stance.

The fenders get a geometric design tucking in precision-cut dual tone 16 inch alloy wheels with 215 section tires on ZXI+ variants and all-black 16 inch alloy wheels with the same tires on the ZXI variants.

At the rear, the Brezza features LighTron LED tail lamps, shark fin antenna, 66 percent bigger rear quarter glass area than the existing Brezza, and an ergonomically placed spare tyre for easy air filling.

The rear looks inspired from the Range Rovers, especially in the red shade. The word ‘Brezza’ is written in bold to make people forget the ‘Vitara’ name altogether. The number plate holder is prominently fixed on the tail gate under a recess.

On the inside, the Brezza sports a multi-layered dashboard design with enriching lines, flat-bottom steering wheel, rear AC vents, plush high quality seat fabric, and toggle control auto AC panel (VXI onwards).

A free-standing display and a fireless charging pad has been added for the first time. Maruti Suzuki has introduced an innovation for reduced door closing effort along with 40 mm wider instrumental panel, and 137 mm wider rear seat compared to the outgoing model.

The ZXI and ZXI+ variants specifically get electric sunroof with tilt-up function for the first time on a Maruti Suzuki, telescopic steering wheel, dual-tone black and brown interior, rear wiper with intermittent functions, cruise control, rear parking camera, and Suzuki Connect with more than 40 features.

The features reserved only for the ZXI+ are interior ambient lights, cooled glove box, type A and C rear fast charger ports, and head-up display (HUD) that provides vital information including speed, RPM, gear, fuel level, AC temperature, and time.

On the top-end variant, you also get a 9-inch home screen with 17 preset wallpapers and the option to add additional wallpapers, wireless dock, Hi Suzuki advanced voice assistant, voice-based customisable greetings, over-the-air system updates, and Surround Sense (natural / acoustic / dynamic BGM).).

As far as SmartPlay is concerned, the ZXI+ gets SmartPlay PRO+ with Surround Sense by ARKAMYS, ZXI gets SmartPlay Pro, and VXI gets SmartPlay Studio.

When it comes to safety features, the Brezza gets Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with roll-over mitigation, and hill hold assist on all variants while the top-end ZXI+ features 6 airbags (front, side, and curtain), and 360 degree camera.

Power comes from the same K15C dual-battery Progressive Smart Hybrid engine as the Ertiga which perfectly balances performance and fuel efficiency. It features dual jet and dual VVT tech. The engine comes mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic with paddle shifters.

The engine mounts have been optimised for better NVH levels while a new resonator added to the intake system further reduces noise. The automatic variants gets paddle shifters.

The Brezza is built on the same Global C platform as the international Vitara and the car is expected to achieve a 5-star safety rating this time as the existing model got 4 stars with dual airbags.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza in dual-tone White and Pearl Brave Khaki shade, The colours on offer include Pearl Artic White, Prime Splendid Silver, Metallic Magma Grey, Sizzling Red, Exuberant Blue, Pearl Brave Khaki, Sizzling Red and Black, Black and Splendid Silver, and White and Brave Khaki. The compact SUV competes against the likes of the Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and Kia Sonet.
