All-new 2022 Maruti Alto K10 bookings open: New teaser out

Maruti Suzuki is all set to re-introduce the Alto K10 in India. The all-new 2022 Alto K10 gets a brand new design in its latest avatar. Bookings for the new car are open at all Maruti Suzuki ARENA dealerships and the booking amount is pegged at Rs. 11,000. Customers can also log on to www.marutisuzuki.com to book the car online. The car’s official launch is slated for 18th of August, which is when exact prices and variant details will be revealed.

The 2022 Maruti Alto K10 will borrow the K10C petrol engine from the S-Presso. This 3 cylinder, naturally aspirated motor gets twin injectors per cylinder, and the technology is called DualJet. Apart from DualJet, the engine also benefits from variable valve timing (VVT) on both the inlet and exhaust valves. On the S-Presso, this engine also gets idle stop technology, which automatically shuts off the engine at traffic lights to save fuel and cut down on tail pipe emissions.

Upon the driver depressing the clutch or the accelerator, the engine restarts seamlessly. The combination of Dualket, dual VVT and idle-stop technology make the new K10C petrol motor a lot more fuel efficient. On the S-Presso equipped with the K10C motor, fuel efficiency has increased by 17 % in the AMT trim and 14 % on the manual trims. We expect the Alto K10 to benefit from similar fuel efficiency gains. Peak power is rated at 66 Bhp while peak torque stands at 89 Nm.

Maruti is preparing to launch an all new Alto 800

Like the S-Presso, the Alto K10 will also get automated manual transmission (AMT) technology for higher trims while the 5 speed manual gearbox will be standard on lower trims. Talking design, the new Maruti Alt0 K10’s exterior and interior styling has already leaked in the run up to launch.

The car looks quite fresh, with revised front and rear end styling, while the interiors also get a fully revamped design, with a touchscreen infotainment unit occupying the center console. The car will be sold in 12 variants, with twin airbags, reverse parking sensors, speed alerts and seat-belt warning and ABS+EBD standard on all trims.
