Benelli had unveiled their big scrambler brand, the Leoncino 800 late last year. While this brand is yet to reach majority of the markets, the company has readied a more powerful version of it.
The Leoncino 800 has been officially unveiled in production-ready at EICMA 2019. The bike shares its 754cc parallel-twin engine with the 752S, but in the Leoncino it produces 80.6PS and 67Nm. It is also expected to be Euro 5-compliant.
It employs a steel trellis frame and is suspended on an upside-down 50mm Marzocchi fork and monoshock. 17-inch wire-spoke wheels are wrapped in tubeless Pirelli tyres and the Leoncino 800 gets Brembo monobloc calipers up front.
According to this website which managed to get access to China’s approval documents, Benelli’s parent firm has registered this bike with more displacement and power. The newer model will make 87bhp – a 7bhp increase over previous model.
The company has decided to upgrade both the models – the Leoncino 800 and the Leoncino 800 Trail. Interestingly, this upcoming model is also lighter at 209kgs as compared to the 220kgs model. So in terms of performance, this bike is bound to perfect much better due to an improved power-to-weight ratio.
We are expecting Benelli to unveil this model in the next few weeks and we are hoping that this model will come to India late this year.
