Chasing Double-Digit Growth, Mercedes To Drive In 10 New Models In India This Year

The locally assembled EQS is expected to hit the market during the last quarter of 2022. With these many car launches in the offing, 2022 is an exciting year for Mercedes fans in India.

Mercedes has announced that it has planned 10 new car launches for India in 2022 as it has set its sights on a double-digit compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in the next 2 years.

Among the 10 new car launches, Mercedes has planned for 2022 to introduce the pure-electric EQS saloon. What’s more, the electric vehicle (EV) will be assembled at the firm’s factory in Chakan, Maharashtra.

Other electric cars that will be introduced in the Indian market will include the EQB electric crossover and EQE electric sedan in India. In March, the country will witness the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach S580 ultra-luxurious saloon, which could also be assembled in the country, like the new generation S-Class it is based on.

Furthermore, the 2022 Mercedes car launches will also likely include models such as the new generation C-Class, the AMG GT Black Series, the new SL, and the firm’s first performance hybrid, the GT 63 S E Performance.

In 2021, Mercedes-Benz India sold 11,242 cars, which was a 42.5 percent improvement in sales compared with 2020. The German brand held a 41 percent market share and retained its lead for the seventh year running.

The company has 94 outlets across 50 Indian cities and plans to add more AMG Performance Centres this year.
