Hyundai Teases New SUV

Hyundai India has put up a teaser on its Instagram page with a message that some things are worth waiting for. From the hast tags, we can make out that it’s going to be an SUV for sure but it must be seen what the globe in the teaser denotes.

For starters, Hyundai is set to launch its all electric SUV Ioniq 5 in India later this year, while the brand is also currently vigorously testing its Venue facelift and the Alcazar CNG variant.

The Ioniq gets several-ground breaking features. It sports an 800 V battery system with support for 400 V as well. With a 350 kW charger, Ioniq 5 can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 18 minutes and by charging for 5 minutes users can get 100 km range.

Some of the revolutionary features on offer include level 2 autonomous driving, surround view monitor, 7-airbags, forward collision avoidance assist, blind spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist, reverse parking collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, smart cruise control with stop and go, remote smart parking assist, intelligent speed limit assist, navigation-based smart cruise control, and driver attention warning.

Coming to the Venue, the upcoming facelift sports new alloy wheels while a new N Line trim will also be added to the list of variants. It will sport signature red accents along with N Line badging, red brake calipers, an other race-spec features.

The N Line could get the 1-litre turbo petrol mill that makes 120 HP and 172 Nm mated to 6-speed manual or iMT or 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Thirdly, Hyundai is also testing the CNG variant of its Alcazar. Designed after Hyundai’s popular compact SUV, Creta, the Alcazar SUV comes in both 6 and 7 seater versions. Powered by a 2-litre petrol or a 1.5-litre diesel engine, the SUV’s price starts at Rs. 16.34 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 20.15 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom).

The upcoming SUV either could be any 1 of these 3 or an altogether new model. Going by the picture of the globe, it could most probably be an electric SUV either the Ioniq 5 or an updated Kona.
