Mahindra Alturas G4 to get facelift, ADAS features for MY22

The Alturas G4 should receive ADAS when the Mahindra XUV700 does in 2022

Mahindra is expected to launch the 2022 Alturas G4 in the Indian market soon. The look of things will give the premium SUV a comprehensive facelift.

Although it was introduced back in 2018, the SUV, which is essentially a rebadged SsangYong Rexton, has yet to establish itself in the fiercely competitive Indian market.

Since the Korean carmaker is no longer under Mahindra’s ownership, the future of the Alturas G4 was questioned left, right and centre, but it turns out the Indian brand has plans to roll-out a facelift for its flagship SUV.
While the exact extent to which Mahindra will revise both the exterior and interior of the premium SUV is unknown, it could well look like the facelifted Rexton that went on sale overseas in March 2021.

The premium SUV will gain more features with for 2022
Perhaps in a bid to make the car seem more value for money, Mahindra has decided that the 2022 Alturas G4 should be equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

Several of the same systems found in the XUV700, such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), smart pilot assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and high beam assist, will be offered in the refreshed Alturas G4.

No mechanical changes are expected to be rolled out though. The 2022 Mahindra Alturas G4 should come with the same 2.2-liter diesel engine and 7-speed automatic transmission.

It is not known if Mahindra will offer the car with more power. It should, for the XUV700 comes with more power and torque too. Also, the car will be sold in both 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive variants like before.
