Mahindra XUV700 Smart Door Handles feature teased officially. The flush door handles are usually found in premium luxury cars and performance cars.
Besides improving the car’s visual appeal, they also reduce drag and improve its aerodynamics. Mahindra has primarily focused on the latter in this case. It’ll be one of the first cars to get this feature in the mass market segment.
How do the flush door handles work?
Well, the door handle pops out when the car is unlocked via the key or by touching the request sensor on the door. When the car gets locked, it conceals back in.
When it comes to door handles, Mahindra has always been creative. When the XUV500 was launched in 2011, one of the visual treats of the SUV was a ‘Cheetah Claw’ inspired door handle.
A flush door handle comes in a variety of styles. As we see on the Range Rover Velar, the one we see pops out from both ends of the handle. Additionally, Tesla door handles have to be pushed from one side, then pulled from the other. Like the Jaguar F-Type, the door handle on the XUV700 looks similar.
Other features teased by the Indian carmaker include personalized safety alerts, panoramic sunroofs, and Auto Booster Headlamps.
Mahindra XUV700 is expected to go on sale in September with its new W601 platform. It will be offered with an optional AWD system.
The new flagship will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine and 2.2-liter diesel engine. Both the machines will be available with manual and automatic transmission options.
