The country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, is getting ready to launch its most expensive model to date in the coming months. We’re talking about the Maruti Suzuki Engage premium MPV. This forthcoming MPV will be another badge-engineered model created in collaboration with the other Japanese automotive giant, Toyota Kirloskar Motor. The Engage MPV will be based on the Toyota Innova Hycross and will be slightly tweaked on the outside to differentiate it from the Innova Hycross. Recently, a video render of what this newest MPV from Maruti Suzuki could look like has surfaced online.
The video rendering of this forthcoming MPV has been shared on YouTube by Bagrawala Designs on their channel. The video starts with the front of the Engage MPV. It can be noted that in the video, the front grille of the Toyota Innova Hycross has been changed to the grille of Maruti Suzuki’s current flagship, the Grand Vitara. Additionally, the Toyota badge has been replaced by the Suzuki insignia, and the new signature Maruti Suzuki chrome strip on the grille has also been added. Apart from this, most of the front is exactly the same as the outgoing Toyota Innova Hycross.
Moving on to the side profile of the rendered car, not much has been changed, and the only significant difference that can be noted is the different set of alloy wheels. The alloy wheels in the rendered MPV are the same ones currently offered with the Grand Vitara. Meanwhile, on the rear end of the Engage render, nothing except the addition of a chrome strip and Suzuki logo is different. Apart from the exterior alterations, not much will be changed in the interior of this forthcoming MPV, and it will mostly retain all the creature comforts and features of the Toyota Innova Hycross.
In terms of features, we can expect the Indo-Japanese carmaker Maruti Suzuki to offer a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a digital driver’s display, dual-zone temperature control, and ventilated front seats in the Maruti premium MPV. Additionally, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, and connected car technology are likely to be included. Meanwhile, on the safety front, the car could come equipped with front and rear parking sensors, up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control (VSC), a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and ADAS features, including lane-keeping and departure aid, adaptive cruise control, and auto-emergency braking.
As for the powertrain side of things, the premium MPV Engage will most likely be available from Maruti Suzuki with the same drivetrain choices as the Innova Hycross. This suggests that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 2.0-liter petrol-hybrid engine will be the two powerplant options for this MPV. The naturally aspirated petrol engine claims a combined maximum power output of 173 bhp and 209 Nm of torque, but the 2.0-liter petrol-hybrid powertrain in the Innova Hycross claims a combined maximum power output of 184 bhp and a fantastic fuel economy of 23.24 kmpl.
