Maserati Electrifies Its Luxury Sports Car Portfolio

Maserati teased its new line of electric vehicles with one tantalizing photo and little else.

The Italian carmaker announced on Thursday that it will be focusing on electric vehicles across its product lineup. There are six different Maseratis in this line, called Folgore.

Granturismo Folgore, a race car looking sports car that starts at around $134,000 in its gas-powered form, will be the first EV. The electric version will be available by 2023. Maserati did not disclose pricing or battery details. However, it did give a sneak peek and mentioned a three-motor configuration that will produce quick acceleration and 186 mph top speeds.

The GranCabrio, a four-seat sports car, will also be available as an electric vehicle in 2023. Also on the EV scene is the Grecale, a mid-size SUV that will debut then.

Prepare yourself for more expensive, electric Maseratis in 2025: the MC20 supercar, Levante full-size SUV, and Quattroporte sport sedan.
By 2030, Maserati says it will only sell electric rides.
