Mercedes Soon To Launch 3 EVs In India, EQB & EQE Also Listed On Internet

The launch of the Mercedes EQB is soon set to take place in India and the electric vehicle (EV) has been listed on the German brand’s Indian website.

Listed along with the EQB is the luxury EQE electric sedan, while the EQS luxury electric saloon has been on the site for some time now.

EQB –

Revealed in April last year, the electric SUV which is nearly 4.7 metres long is based on the GLB. It has the typical design elements of Mercedes-EQ models and can be had with up to 7 seats in some markets.

Set to feature a usable battery capacity of 66.5 kWh, the EQB in ‘350 4Matic’ guise will come with a claimed 419 km range (WLTP) on a single charge. The exact power specifications of the model sold in India are unknown.

EQE –

Showcased globally in September 2021, the EQE is the second car to be based on Mercedes’s new luxury electric vehicle (EV) platform, the first is the EQS saloon, looks like a smaller version of the EQS.

With a 90 kWh battery, the EQE, in ‘350’ grade will have between 545 and 660 km range and a sole 215 kW (288 BHP) motor at the back producing 530 torques.

EQS –

Mercedes wants to go fully electric, where market conditions allow, by 2030, EQB Also unveiled in April, the EQS saloon can be had in rear-wheel drive ‘450’ model or 4-wheel drive ‘580’ variant. The power figures of the grades stand at 329 HP and 568 Nm; and 516 HP and 854 Nm.

With a 107.8 kWh battery pack the EQS can travel up to 771 km before it’s battery needs to be recharged. It, like the cars mentioned above, does support fast charging.

All the models come packed to the rafters with new age technology and the most advanced safety features and all of them are expected to be fully imported into the nation.

However, Mercedes has announced that it is looking into the possibility of locally assembling its EQ-series EVs, which would considerably bring such models down.
