Mercedes To Launch 2021 S-Class On 17th June In India

Mercedes has announced it will launch the 2021 S-Class, that sports the brand’s latest design language, on 17th June in India.

The new generation S-Class is larger than the outgoing model and will initially be offered as a ‘Launch Edition’ model which will be a completely built-up (CBU) unit.

It is sleeker and visually more modern than the model it replaces and customers will get as many as 5 exterior colour options.

On the inside, the luxury limousine has witnessed more of a revolution. The cabin is as luxurious as it gets for the price range and customers will get a couple of premium upholstery options and choice of different wood trims as well.

In terms of features offered, there will be a 3D-enabled 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 4 touchscreens (including a 12.8-inch main display), head-up displays with augmented reality, the latest MBUX suite, among several others.

Launch Edition models (which will be AMG Line variants) are expected to come with ambient lighting, Burmester 4D surround sound system, electrically adjustable massaging seats (front and rear), a chauffeur package, and more tech.

Powering the luxury limousine would be 6-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. In S 450 4Matic form, the car will have 362 HP and 500 Nm, while the S 400d model will come with 326 HP and 700 Nm of torque.

Both will feature a 9-speed automatic transmission which will send the engine’s power to all 4 wheels, while rear-wheel steering is set to be offered with Launch Edition cars.

Safety-wise, the 2021 S-Class will come with a myriad of systems including front airbags for rear passengers, side impact mitigation system and advanced driver assistance features.
