MG Motor India has partnered with digital services provider Jio India to implement Internet of Things (IoT) features in its upcoming midsize SUV.
The automaker, which sells models like Hector and ZS EV, will integrate IT systems enabled by Jio’s IoT solution in the upcoming model.
MG Motor said that Jio’s internet reach and connectivity will benefit customers of its upcoming midsize SUV in metros and in small towns and rural areas.
“Technology and innovation are leading the connected car space in the automobile industry. Our current partnership with Jio in the IoT space is a step towards establishing MG Motor as the technology leader in the automobile industry,” noted MG Motors India President & Managing Director Rajeev Chaba.
He said the company’s partnership with Jio will significantly simplify the driving experience and ensure enhanced safety for its next mid-sized connected SUV.
“Jio has been developing an ecosystem of cutting-edge technology products and solutions for Indian consumers. Our partnership with MG Motor India is an important step in that direction. Jio’s eSIM, IOT and Streaming solutions will enable MG users to access real-time connectivity,
infotainment, and telematics,” Jio Director & President Kiran Thomas said.
MG Motors will release its new midsize SUV in the last quarter of the year.
