MG’s SUV Below Rs 10 Lakh Cheaper Than Hyundai Creta, Seltos! (Launch Date, USPs & More)

MG Motors rumored to launch the novel Astor, which could threaten the dominance of Hyundai’s best-seller Creta SUV, Kia Seltos, etc., since it will be appraised below Rs 10 lakh.

Dimensions

SUV has a length of 4,314mm, is 1,809mm in width, and 1,644mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,585mm, around 25mm less than the Hyundai Creta.

Petrol Motor Options

The Astor will have only the petrol variant offered with two engine choices.

The 1.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated one is capable of producing 120bhp and 150 Nm of torque.

The 1.3-liter turbocharged can produce 163bhp and 230 Nm of torque, which is more powerful than the 138bhp, 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol motor, which also runs the Creta.

Both manual and automatic variants will be possible.

Its Unique Feature

The Astor could be the first in the section to be equipped with level 1 autonomous technology – ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).

This innovation consists of active driver assistance in the form of an emergency braking system, lane departure warning, blind-spot detection, front collision warning, adaptive cruise control, hands-free auto parking.

Exteriors

Style-wise it will adopt design elements from the ZS Petrol, which has a distinctive front grille, multi-function steering wheel, new LED tail-lamps, sharper headlamps with LED DRLs, a new bumper and unique alloy wheels.

However, there will be remarkable alterations to differentiate it from the rest, such as the infotainment setup being a floating unit, new center console buttons, and flexible headrests for each passenger.

The new SUV could launch succeeding this year, probably before Diwali, in mid-July and September 2021.

It will be competing with Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, and Renault Duster in the C-SUV segment.
