Rivian spinoff Also has launched its first electric bike — the TM-B, a high-tech modular e-bike designed to challenge industry norms. Debuted in Oakland, the TM-B represents years of in-house innovation driven by a belief that building every component was the only way to deliver a truly unique micromobility experience.

The Launch Edition and Performance Trim share identical high-end specs:

- 10 assist levels and 2 ride modes (including a “Sport” mode)
- Air suspension front and rear
- Top speed: 28 mph
- $4,500 price tag
- Expected rollout: Launch in spring 2026, Performance in first half of 2026
The Base Trim will be more affordable (under $4,000) and feature:
- 60-mile range
- 5 assist levels, 1 ride mode
- Coil fork suspension
- Launching late 2026

One of the TM-B’s most compelling features is its modular top frame:
- Users can switch between solo, bench, or utility cargo setups in seconds — no tools required.
- Utility mode supports 77 lbs of cargo and adds integrated racks.
- All configurations sync with the bike’s central touchscreen to adjust settings automatically.
Security and Connectivity at the Core
Also’s team prioritized security and smart integration from the ground up:
- Auto-locking system secures the frame, battery, and wheels once the rider walks away.
- Tampering triggers a loud honk and sends an alert via the Also app.
- With LTE and GPS, riders can track, locate, and remotely disable (“brick”) the bike if stolen.
Built-In Tech for the Modern Rider
The TM-B’s tech-forward design includes:
- A central handlebar touchscreen for navigation, ride stats, and system controls.
- Biomotion lighting on the rider’s legs for safety and visibility.
- USB-C fast-charging battery that can also charge external devices.
Behind all this lies a robust software ecosystem. Also can push updates, enhance ride modes, and deliver features like precise ETAs using real-time data — all integrated into the hardware.
A Smart Helmet to Match
Also also created its own premium helmet: the Alpha Wave Helmet, with:
- Advanced rotational impact protection
- One-handed strap adjustment
- Built-in lighting, four speakers, and two noise-canceling microphones
- Seamless integration with the bike’s touchscreen or the rider’s phone
It allows riders to take calls, listen to music, and receive turn-by-turn directions, enhancing both safety and user experience.
