Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 Nears Launch: All-New Engine, Big ADV Energy

New 750cc twin-cylinder Himalayan with up to 60hp set to redefine the adventure segment in India

First Look: Himalayan 750 Nears Production

The highly anticipated Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 has been spied once again—this time looking almost production-ready.

  • The latest spy shots from Chennai reveal a bike fitted with mandatory crash protection, including a saree guard, hinting at imminent launch readiness.
  • It retains the rugged ADV styling, with design tweaks that differentiate it from the smaller Himalayan 450.

This iteration seems far more polished than previous test mules, suggesting the launch timeline may not be far off.

Key New Design Elements Spotted

The Himalayan 750 may share some DNA with its stablemates but introduces several distinctive features:

  • High-mounted exhaust for off-road clearance and aggressive styling.
  • New faired tank section that gives it a bulkier ADV silhouette.
  • Remote reservoir rear shock, a first for a Himalayan model, mounted near the pillion footpeg—though adjustability remains uncertain.
  • The familiar circular TFT display and round LED headlamp (like on other modern REs) are also present.

These changes not only enhance functionality but also give the bike a more premium, purpose-built ADV feel.

Spoked and Alloy Wheels: Options Incoming

The test bike appears to be running on spoked wheels, but Royal Enfield is expected to offer both spoked and alloy variants.

  • This dual offering will cater to both serious off-roaders and road-focused tourers.
  • Alloy wheels may come with tubeless tyre compatibility, a much-needed upgrade for touring convenience.

All-New 750cc Engine: India’s Most Powerful Yet

The Himalayan 750 will introduce a new 750cc parallel-twin engine, derived from the current 650 platform.

  • While retaining the air-/oil-cooled layout, the engine is expected to deliver 55–60hp, up from the 48hp in the 650cc models.
  • This would officially make it the most powerful motorcycle engine produced in India.

Royal Enfield is likely to position this engine across a new premium lineup, although it’s unclear whether the 750 will eventually replace the 650 or coexist with it.

EICMA Reveal on the Cards?

While the exact launch date is unconfirmed, expectations are building around a possible unveiling at EICMA 2025.

  • With the motorcycle in production-ready form, Royal Enfield may showcase the bike and engine on an international stage before announcing India-specific launch details.
  • Test rides or media previews may follow soon after, pointing to a likely mid-to-late 2026 launch window.

Himalayan 750: What It Means for Indian Motorcycling

This bike is a major leap forward for Royal Enfield and Indian ADV touring as a whole.

  • The combination of big-bike aesthetics, advanced mechanicals, and higher performance will appeal to serious riders and global markets alike.
  • It’s positioned to rival premium middleweight ADVs, but likely at a more accessible price point.

The Himalayan 750 could be India’s answer to the likes of the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, but with a distinct Royal Enfield character.
