Tata Owned Car Brand Has Beaten Audi; Becomes 3rd Biggest Luxury Car Maker In India

Jaguar Land Rover, which is owned by Tata Motors, has overtaken Audi as the third-largest luxury carmaker in the world. In February 2021, Jaguar Land Rover overtook Audi for the third spot, selling 188 units compared to 298 units in February 2020, a 36.9% fall. JLR has been the only luxury car manufacturer to see a revenue rise in 2019, even though all of its rivals saw sales decline.

Mercedes-Benz stayed at the top of the luxury car sales charts in February 2021, ahead of BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, and Audi, with a significant decrease of 27.4 per cent. In India, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has unveiled two new powerful engines for the famous off-roader. The SUV now has a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder turbocharged engine, available in both petrol and diesel, making it the most powerful version of the model in the region.

The price of the 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel unit will start from ?94.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and will go up to ?1.08 crore for the top-spec X variant. The price of the 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit starts from ?86.24 lakh and goes up to ?92.80 for the top-end X-Dynamic HSE trim.
