The BMW iX1 will be globally unveiled at some point in 2022, according to an official announcement. iX1 will utilize a modular platform similar to the BMW Cluster Architecture (CLAR) used in iX and i4. The platform will support pure combustion, plug-in hybrids, and even pure electric powertrains. Additionally, the electric equivalent of the X1 will also benefit from BMW’s fifth-generation eDrive technology.
In terms of the exterior, the iX1 will feature a wider and boxier kidney grille adjoining the headlights and V-shaped daytime running lights. The front bumper is likely to feature C-shaped air dams to improve aerodynamic. Meanwhile, the SUV will reportedly feature flush door handles.
Its infotainment system will be on par with the other up-to-date BMW models since the all-new iX1 will feature BMW’s latest iDrive, Operating System 8. Moreover, the sub-compact SUV will be equipped with 5G for enhanced connectivity. The BMW electric vehicle lineup consists of the i3, i4, iX3, and iX.
