With the launch of the Seltos diesel iMT, Kia will offer the compact SUV’s diesel variants with 3 gearbox options.
In 2022, Kia India is expected to launch the Seltos diesel iMT variant. A petrol iMT powertrain was added to the compact SUV this May.
Unlike the Seltos, the diesel iMT combination is expected to be offered in the mid-spec HTK+ trim level, just like the 1.5-liter petrol iMT.
The Kia Seltos diesel iMT will launch after the marque introduces its MPV, likely called Carens, by around January-February next year.
From the moment it was introduced, the Seltos became an instant success, Currently, Kia offers two transmission options for the Seltos diesel – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. As a result of the addition of an iMT, the oil burner, like the naturally aspirated petrol motor, will offer three transmission options.
You can expect Hyundai to charge about Rs. 40,000/- more for the iMT variant than its manual counterpart.
Thus, in the case of the HTK+ diesel, the variant with the 6-speed iMT should cost Rs. 13.59 lakhs, as the 6-speed manual model costs Rs. 13.19 lakhs (prices are ex-showroom).
With respect to power figures, the 1.5-litre diesel engine of the Seltos is tuned to produce 115 PS and 250 Nm of torque.
