This Mid-Size SUV From Skoda Can Beat Kia Seltos In India? Bookings Start From June

Due to the overall situation of the resultant pandemic due to coronavirus, there has been a delay in expected car launches in our country. However, this year might witness the pending cars being launched.

SUV Kushaq, which was unveiled in March 18 this year by Skoda Auto India just before the second wave of the pandemic, will be launched this year.

Price as well as the detailed specifications of the car, as per the developments, shall be announced by the Czech carmaker in June-end.

Details To Be Announced Next Month, Deliveries To Start In July
Director at Skoda Auto India, Zac Hollis said in a twitter reply about a query on launch timeline that the prices and specifications shall be announced towards the end of next month, which is the same time in which bookings will open and deliveries shall start in month of July.

Czech Republic by July Kushaq SUV shall start reaching the dealers across the country. Also, bookings shall open by next month.

As a part its India 2.0 project, Kushaq will be Skoda’s first offering. It is based on the same platform which is shares with Volkswagen, MQB-A0-IN. The

upcoming Taigun SUV shall also share the same platform.

Specifications Of Kushaq
With a ground clearance of 188 mm, wheelbase of 2651 mm, it is 4,221 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width and 1,612 mm in height. The higher end of the same shall have 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels while lower end shall have 16-inch steel rims or 16-inch alloys.

Two fuel engine options including a 1.0 liter and 1.5 liter TSI motor. The 1.0-liter petrol engine will be built with a 6-speed manual gearbox or an automatic-speed 6 transmission. The engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 113 bhp. The 1.5 liter TSI petrol engine, which will be able to deliver 147 bhp power, will be able to select a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

The price of a Skoda Kushaq SUV can be between ? 12 lakh and 16 lakh. When launched, it will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector and upcoming Volkswagen Taigun SUVs.
