Volvo Plans To Charge a Lot For Its Electric XC40 In India, Price Leaked

A price for the Volvo XC40 Recharge has been leaked ahead of the luxury electric crossover’s official launch in India.
Completely built-up as a CBU, the XC40 Recharge will retail for Rs. 75 lakhs, while its gas engine version starts at Rs. 43.25 lakhs (price ex-showroom).

Unlike the other Volvo models, the Recharge Pro will come in only one grade. It will come with LED lights, 19-inch dual tone alloy wheels, 5 exterior paint options, 2 interior upholstery choices, portrait-style touchscreen, heated seats, 360-degree camera and a whole host of safety tech.

Will customers spend such big money for an EV with just over 400 km range? The Volvo XC40 Recharge sold in India will come with a 75 kWh battery pack. With 408 HP and 660 Nm of torque on tap, the electric car will be no slouch. It can do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 4.9 seconds.

Sporting all-wheel drive, the XC40 Recharge comes with 418 km of claimed range on a single charge. Its top speed is limited to 180 km/hr and it takes between 8-10 hours to completely charge the battery using a 11 kW AC charger or 40 minutes (0-80 percent) using a 150 kW DC charger.

As things stand, Volvo has not yet disclosed when bookings for the EV will begin in India. Since the cat is out of the bag, an official statement regarding the model’s market launch can be expected soon.
