Dubai Airport To Soon Provide PCR Test Reports Within 3-4 Hours, Here How

UAE is doing everything it can to get its citizens vaccinated- however, despite the vaccination drive, getting a PCR test done while travelling is still a mandate. Whether you are a vaccinated traveller or an unvaccinated traveller, if you have travelled in the past, you may know that getting a PCR Test done is a must. And the results for the same, usually take around 12 to 24 hours to arrive, but now you’ll be able to have your results within 4 hours. Read on to know more about it.

Dubai Airport Terminal 2 Is Setting Up A Lab To Smoothen The PCR Test Process
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports said,

“We are going to establish a lab on the premise close to Terminal 2 where PCR tests will be processed and the results should be available in 3-4 hours.”

This new update will also mean that you will now be able to travel smoothly once you receive your results. However, till you don’t get your results, you will be required to stay isolated at home or in hotels. Griffiths spoke about this update at the Arabian Travel Market 2021.

In The Future, Biometrics May Get Replaced With PCR Tests
He furthermore said that passengers arriving at the Dubai Airport will now experience a seamless experience when it comes to the PCR testing process. Speaking about the future, he said that in the future, PCR test might end up being replaced with biometrics if they become common across the world. He said,

“We have already got the Covid-19 applications active, which show vaccination status of the people. If other countries are doing similar thing, then all we need is to join it up. And through IATA, we will be able to join that.”

Well, all this will ease the travel process shortly.
