Students in Colleges at Pune University Will Be Vaccinated Against COVID 19

Vaccination of international students at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) started today. The vaccination program is being implemented in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Pune, and the World Organization of Students and Youth. More than 200 students who registered online at the university’s health center were vaccinated.

SPPU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Nitin Karmalkar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor NS Umrani, Registrar Dr. Praful Pawar, Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Management Council Member Rajesh Pandey, Prasenjit Fadnavis, Senate Member Bhagyashree Manthalkar, Director of International Centre Dr. Vijay Khare, Divisional Director, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Anuja Chakraborty, were present during the inauguration of the vaccination program.

Mohol said that with the help of the university, students would be vaccinated in all educational institutions in the near future.
Dr. Vijay Khare said that this vaccination program is establishing cultural ties at the international level, and these students will represent India as ambassadors.

This is the first time in the country that international students are being vaccinated in this manner. We intend to vaccinate students of India as well as international students, Karmalkar said.
