Air India Express Starts New Delhi–Varanasi Flights, Extends Connectivity to Support Maha Kumbh

In response to the increased demand for travel during the Maha Kumbh, Air India Express is expanding its services to Varanasi. This enhanced connectivity aims to offer more convenient travel options for pilgrims and visitors heading to the spiritual city. The airline will launch daily direct flights between Delhi and Varanasi starting 5th February 2025, alongside additional flights on the Bengaluru–Varanasi and Hyderabad–Varanasi routes.

New Delhi–Varanasi Flights

From 5th February 2025, Air India Express will begin operating daily direct flights between New Delhi and Varanasi. The flight details are as follows:

  • Departure from Delhi: 19:35 | Arrival in Varanasi: 21:20 (Daily)
  • Departure from Varanasi: 21:50 | Arrival in Delhi: 23:25 (Daily)

Enhanced Bengaluru–Varanasi Flights

Air India Express will increase the frequency of its Bengaluru–Varanasi flights from three to four per day, providing more flexibility for passengers. The new flight schedule from 5th to 12th February 2025 is:

  • Bengaluru to Varanasi: 06:30 | Arrival: 09:15 (Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun)
  • Varanasi to Bengaluru: 09:55 | Arrival: 12:40 (Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun)

Hyderabad–Varanasi Flights

Air India Express will also add 30 extra flights on the Hyderabad–Varanasi route during February and March 2025 to support the influx of pilgrims for the Maha Kumbh. The Hyderabad–Varanasi route is already operating daily.

Expanding Varanasi Connectivity

With these new additions, Air India Express now operates 48 weekly flights from Varanasi, offering direct connections to major cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. Additionally, the airline provides one-stop access to 19 other destinations, including Chennai, Kochi, Goa, and Srinagar. Internationally, Varanasi is connected to Sharjah, with one-stop options to destinations like Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Jeddah, and Muscat.

Air India Express Network Overview

From Delhi:

  • About 325 weekly flights connecting Delhi to 18 domestic destinations including Varanasi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Lucknow, as well as four international destinations (Bahrain, Dammam, Muscat, and Sharjah).

From Bengaluru:

  • Approximately 420 weekly flights serving 28 domestic destinations such as Varanasi, Bengaluru, Goa, and Chennai, with two international destinations (Abu Dhabi and Dammam).

From Hyderabad:

  • 208 weekly flights connecting Hyderabad to 20 domestic destinations like Varanasi, Chennai, and Bengaluru, as well as international routes to Dammam, Jeddah, and Riyadh.
