Amazon Mistakenly Sells 1.8 Ton Split ACs For The Same Price As An Air Cooler

Amazon India listed a high-end split air conditioner with a discount of 94 percent by mistake. Despite the error being rectified later, many consumers took advantage of the unique benefit.

Everyone loves a big fat discount at online marketplaces, and when that product is an air conditioner, every fiber of your being wants to avail one in a country like India. However, Amazon India made an error regarding an AC listing, spelled trouble for the brand and blessing for eager customers. The case involves a premium Toshiba Inverter Split AC that was accidentally given a discount of 94 percent.

Toshiba’s 2021 range split system AC was listed on Amazon’s India for Rs 5,900. It does seem like a deal too good to be true. The AC system cost Rs 96,700, and the discount amounted to Rs 5,900. Therefore, Amazon was supposed to sell the AC at Rs 90,800 with a discount of Rs 5,900.

Amazon makes a huge mistake with its price listings.

According to India Today, the “highly discounted” air conditioning system quickly attracted a lot of interest. Eventually, Amazon realized the problem and corrected the price as well as offers. However, no one knows whether Amazon charged the full amount or had to sell this premium AC system at such low prices to those who had booked it.

Amazon has made a similar mistake before. During the Prime Day sale in 2019, Amazon had accidentally sold lakhs of camera gear for Rs 6,500.

In other news, Amazon India has listed the Nokia G20 for the Indian market as an Amazon exclusive. Nokia’s affordable range of smartphones is rounded out with the Nokia G20. Nokia G20 features a MediaTek Helio G35 chipset, a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen, a 48-megapixel quad-camera system, and a 5050mAh battery.

Amazon India is also selling the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite. The Xiaomi India midrange 4G smartphone is the latest addition to the company’s lineup. Xiaomi’s Mi 11 Lite is its first smartphone in the premium mid-range segment. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor, a 10-bit 90Hz AMOLED display, a 64-megapixel triple rear camera, and a 4250mAh battery power the phone.
