New Leadership for FICCI’s Next Chapter
Anant Goenka, Vice-Chairman of the RPG Group, has officially taken over as President of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) for the 2025–2026 term, succeeding Harsha Vardhan Agarwal of Emami Ltd.
- Goenka brings a strong mix of industry experience and academic pedigree, with degrees from both the Kellogg School of Management (MBA) and the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania (BS in Economics).
- His appointment signals continuity with innovation, aligning with FICCI’s ongoing efforts to promote inclusive economic growth, digital transformation, and policy advocacy.
Vijay Sankar and Puneet Dalmia Join the Leadership Team
Joining Goenka in the top brass of FICCI are two other prominent industrialists:
- Vijay Sankar, Chairman of The Sanmar Group, has been appointed Senior Vice-President.
- Puneet Dalmia, Managing Director and CEO of Dalmia Bharat Ltd, takes over as Vice-President.
Both leaders bring deep sectoral experience in chemicals and cement, respectively, complementing Goenka’s multi-sector background in infrastructure, tyres, and IT services.
Strategic Implications of the New Line-up
The new leadership team reflects a balanced representation across key Indian industries.
- Anant Goenka’s role at the RPG Group, which spans diverse sectors including mobility, technology, and infrastructure, is expected to bring a broad perspective to FICCI’s policy engagements.
- Vijay Sankar, with Sanmar’s global footprint in specialty chemicals and engineering, will likely focus on trade and manufacturing competitiveness.
- Puneet Dalmia, leading one of India’s largest cement and building materials firms, is well-positioned to address issues in infrastructure and sustainability.
A Mandate Focused on Growth and Innovation
As President, Goenka is expected to champion:
- Innovation-led industrial growth, especially in emerging technologies and green transition.
- Stronger public-private partnerships to bolster India’s infrastructure.
- SME enablement, digitalisation, and global trade competitiveness.
- Deepening FICCI’s role in shaping India’s Vision 2047 economic roadmap.
The chamber is also likely to increase its focus on skills development, climate resilience, and manufacturing revival under this leadership.
