Free Vaccination For 12 Lakh IT Employees, Their Families

Some of the leading IT companies in India, including Infosys Ltd., Wipro Ltd., and Tech Mahindra Ltd., are organizing vaccination camps for their employees and their family members.

As we all know, the vaccination has been opened up for all adults now, which will be effective from May 1.

Infosys, Tech M, Wipro Arrange Vaccination Drives For Employees And Their Family
Indian IT companies are among the largest private employers in the county. Around 1.2 million people, or a quarter of India’s 4.6 million workforce is employed by the top 5 IT companies in India – Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS), Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and HCL Technologies Ltd.

The vaccination drive has been arranged by Infosys Ltd., Wipro Ltd., and Tech Mahindra Ltd., for its employees and their family members on their campuses.

Harshvendra Soin, global chief people officer at Tech Mahindra, said, “We have recently launched an exclusive Covid-19 vaccination drive for our associates and their dependent family members across India…and are also covering the cost of vaccinations for our associates and third-party employees.”

A Wipro spokesperson has confirmed that on Thursday, the first COVID-19 vaccination camp will be organized at the Electronics City campus for employees based in Bengaluru. He also confirmed that necessary efforts are being taken to organize such vaccination camps for other major offices of the IT major in India.

IT Companies Take Extra Efforts For A Safe Work Environment
As per reports, in addition to these vaccination camps on campus, Infosys has collaborated with more than 130 hospitals where all the employees and their immediate families can be vaccinated.

Richard Lobo, executive vice president and head (human resources) at Infosys said, “We will work with our partners to accelerate our vaccination program to cover our employee population as early as possible. We are in discussion with healthcare providers as well as vaccine suppliers to help us in this endeavour.”

Wipro has also tied up with Connect and Heal (CNH), a tech-enabled, online-to-offline delivery platform which specializes in primary care and urgent response services to prove vaccination to its employees.

Whereas, Tech Mahindra has a risk screening test Mhealthy, which makes sure that all the personnel entering the premises are healthy, and ensuring the safety of the work environment.
