Gartner Report: 30% Indians Will Never Go To Office & Work From Home Permanently!

The working from home policy that was implemented almost all around the world during the COVID-19 pandemic isn’t going away anytime soon.

Analysis has shown that India will be responsible for one of the largest remote workers.

Approximately 51% of knowledge workers are expected to work remotely.

As per the research by Gartner, one-third of employees will be working remotely by the year 2022.

In the report, it is estimated that 51% of those in knowledge-based fields will be working remotely by the end of the current year. In 2019, the figure was 27%. The report also estimates that remote workers will make up 32% of the global workforce by the end of 2021, up from 17% in 2019.

People who work in knowledge-intensive professions such as writers, accountants, and engineers are referred to as knowledge workers.

According to Gartner, “India and China will have some of the largest numbers of remote workers, but their overall penetration rates will remain relatively low, with 30% of Indian workers working remotely (by 2022) and 28% of Chinese workers working remotely.”

PCs and Tablets will become more Popular in Hybrid Workforce.

In addition, this report shows that the US will rank first when it comes to remote workers in the year 2022, accounting for 53% of the American workforce. In 2022, Europe and the UK will account for 52% of remote workers, while Germany and France will account for 37% and 33%, respectively.

As per Gartner’s senior research director, Ranjit Atwal, a Hybrid workforce is the future of work wherein removing turn-on on-site parts will optimize employers’ workforce needs.

A hybrid workforce will also result in increased computer and tablet sales. The number of computers and tablets shipped in 2021 will surpass 500 million units for the first time, demonstrating the demand from both businesses and consumers.

Gartner estimates that worldwide end-user spending on public cloud services will increase by 23.1% in 2021. Also, ZTNA (zero-trust network access) will become the primary replacement technology by 2024. It will be responsible for at least 40% of all remote access usage, up from less than 5% at the end of 2020.
