KisanKonnect Secures INR 72 Cr to Scale Fresh Produce Delivery

Backed by Bajaj Finserv Group and Mistry Ventures, KisanKonnect aims to deepen its tech-driven farm-to-fork model and expand its online-offline presence across urban Maharashtra.

KisanKonnect Bags INR 72 Cr in Pre-Series A Round

KisanKonnect, an omnichannel farm-to-fork startup, has secured INR 72 Cr (~$8 Mn) in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Bajaj Finserv Group.

  • The round also saw participation from Mistry Ventures, Desai Foods, Dhanuka Agritech, and the Action Tessa family office.
  • This marks KisanKonnect’s second fundraise in 2025, taking its total capital raised in just this year to over $12.5 Mn.

Strategic Use of Fresh Capital

Co-founder Vivek Nirmal said the funds will be deployed to:

  • Enhance its tech infrastructure, especially in AI, IoT, and RFID
  • Streamline and scale its supply chain operations
  • Expand both digital and offline retail presence
  • Deepen engagement with its 5,000-strong farmer network

These initiatives are aimed at improving traceability, demand forecasting, and inventory efficiency across 650+ SKUs.

Tech-Powered Farm-to-Fork Model

Founded in 2020 by Vivek and Nidhi Nirmal, KisanKonnect operates a 60-minute fresh delivery model through its app and website, serving Mumbai and Pune.

  • It also runs offline stores selling fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • The startup sources directly from 5,000 farmers via village-level collection centers.
  • AI and RFID tools help manage grading, sorting, and delivery with minimal wastage.

The tech-driven approach gives KisanKonnect a strong operational backbone in a space notorious for fragmentation and inefficiency.

A Crowded Yet Promising Market

KisanKonnect operates in the INR 7.5 Lakh Cr Indian fruits and vegetables market—one riddled with:

  • High perishability and wastage
  • Unorganised supply chains
  • Lack of standardised quality control

Yet, this space has seen rising investor interest, with startups solving for freshness, traceability, and last-mile delivery.

  • Handpickd (Sorted) raised $15 Mn in Series A funding led by Bertelsmann India Investments.
  • Pluckk bagged $10 Mn in March from Euro Gulf Investment.

Meanwhile, quick commerce giants like Zepto, Blinkit, and Swiggy Instamart have also aggressively entered the fresh produce delivery segment, pushing smaller players to innovate or consolidate.

Competitive Edge in Farmer Network & Traceability

Unlike hyperlocal delivery platforms focused on speed alone, KisanKonnect is rooted in traceability and farmer-first sourcing.

  • By leveraging tech for end-to-end visibility, it ensures quality and freshness at scale.
  • Its dual-channel (online + offline) strategy also helps build brand trust and physical recall—an edge in fresh categories where touch and feel often influence buying behavior.

With increased funding, the startup is poised to strengthen this hybrid model further and cement its position in urban Maharashtra before expanding beyond.
