Meta has appointed Arun Srinivas as the new Managing Director and Head of India, reinforcing its leadership team at a crucial juncture. This announcement follows the recent resignation of Shivnath Thukral, Meta’s Vice President and Head of Public Policy in India.
Strategic Mandate for Business and Innovation Growth
In his expanded role, Srinivas will spearhead Meta’s business, innovation, and revenue priorities, aiming to drive sustained market growth.
- According to Meta’s official statement, he will play a pivotal role in aligning business goals with client needs while nurturing long-term partnerships across sectors.
- He will also lead efforts to deepen engagement with brands, advertisers, developers, and ecosystem partners in India.
Reporting Structure and Organizational Realignment
Srinivas will assume his new role starting July 2025, reporting to Sandhya Devanathan, Meta’s Vice President for India.
- Devanathan’s responsibilities were recently expanded to cover Southeast Asia, indicating a regional leadership consolidation.
- “Arun’s proven track record in driving innovation and building strong partnerships positions him well to lead Meta’s next phase of growth in India,” said Devanathan.
Extensive Industry Experience
With over 25 years of experience, Srinivas brings a diverse background spanning consumer goods, technology, and mobility.
- He currently serves as the Director and Head of Ads Business at Meta India, a role he took on after joining the company five years ago.
- Previously, he held leadership positions including COO and Global CMO at Ola Mobility, and Category Vice President at Unilever, where he worked for over 15 years.
- He also had early stints at Reebok, further broadening his industry credentials.
Broader Changes in Meta’s Asia-Pacific Leadership
This appointment comes amidst a wave of leadership transitions at Meta across Asia-Pacific.
- Dan Neary, Meta’s outgoing APAC chief, announced his departure after a 12-year tenure, with Benjamin Joe set to succeed him.
- Meanwhile, Meta is also bolstering its AI capabilities in India, with plans to open a new office in Bengaluru focused on AI engineering and product development.
