Reliance Jio’s AirFiber Hits 9.5 Million Users in Global Record

Reliance Jio posts strong Q2 FY26 results with rising ARPU, expanding AirFiber reach, and a record-setting 5G user base.

Jio Hits 500 Million Milestone with Sustained User Growth

Reliance Jio has once again solidified its leadership in India’s telecom space, crossing 506.4 million customers by the end of Q2 FY26, up from 498.1 million in the previous quarter.

  • This marks a net addition of 8.3 million users in just three months.
  • Jio reiterated the 500 million milestone it first announced during its AGM 2025.

ARPU Rises with 5G Uptake

Jio’s Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) climbed from ₹208.8 to ₹211.4, thanks largely to the increased usage of 5G services.

  • Jio stated that 5G adoption played a major role in ARPU improvement.
  • With 234 million 5G users, nearly 50% of Jio’s wireless traffic is now on the 5G layer.

This shift not only boosts ARPU but also strengthens Jio’s position as the largest 5G operator by user base globally.

Strong Financial Performance in Q2 FY26

Jio reported robust financials:

  • Revenue: ₹42,652 crore, up 14.9% YoY
  • EBITDA: ₹18,757 crore, up 17.7% YoY

This growth reflects higher data and voice consumption, as well as the impact of Jio’s 5G monetization strategy.

Data and Voice Usage Surge

The telco’s network traffic continues to rise:

  • Data traffic: 58.4 billion GB (up from 54.7 billion GB)
  • Voice traffic: 1.50 trillion minutes (slightly up from 1.49 trillion)
  • Per capita data usage: 38.7 GB/month

Despite massive growth, the monthly churn rate remains stable at 1.9%, among the lowest in the industry.

Jio AirFiber Sees Global-Scale Growth

Jio AirFiber (5G FWA) has rapidly scaled to a 9.5 million user base, making it the largest fixed wireless access platform globally.

  • The company is currently adding 1 million AirFiber users every month, matching internal projections.
  • This success reflects growing demand for home internet solutions powered by 5G.

Home Broadband Connections Expand

In the fixed broadband space, Jio’s home connections rose to 23 million, showcasing its dominance in both mobile and home internet services.

Reliance Jio has crossed 506 million users, with ARPU rising to ₹211.4 in Q2 FY26. Growth was driven by 5G adoption, AirFiber expansion, and strong data usage. Jio now leads the global 5G user base, while its financial performance reflects sustained momentum across mobile and broadband services.
