StockGro Secures $13 Mn to Expand Reach and AI-Powered Advisory Tools

With over 35 Mn users, the social investment platform gears up for regional expansion, AI-powered tools, and broader asset class integration.

BITKRAFT Doubles Down on StockGro with $13 Mn Series B1

StockGro, Bengaluru-based investment advisory and learning platform, has raised $13 Mn (₹117.3 Cr) in a Series B1 round led by existing investor BITKRAFT Ventures.

  • The funding will be used to expand geographically, enhance its advisory stack, and integrate AI-powered research tools.
  • The raise follows closely on the heels of a ₹150 Cr ($17 Mn) infusion from Param Capital’s Mukul Agrawal, bringing StockGro’s total funding to around $95 Mn.

Aiming for India’s New Investor Class

Founded in 2020 by Ajay Lakhotia, StockGro operates at the intersection of fintech and edtech — designed to simplify investing for first-time and serious retail investors.

  • The app has grown to 35 Mn+ users and partnered with 1,500+ educational institutions, making it one of India’s largest social investing communities.
  • It offers SEBI-registered advisory, simulation-based learning, and real-time insights into equities and other asset classes.

“We’re bringing SEBI-registered experts, institutional-grade research, and AI-powered tools into a single experience that helps investors across Bharat make better, more confident decisions,” said CEO Ajay Lakhotia.

Riding India’s Fintech & Retail Investor Boom

India now has 13.6 Cr registered investors as of October 2025, with nearly 1 Lakh new account openings daily, per SEBI.

  • Digital-first platforms like StockGro are capitalizing on this surge by offering:
    • Easy onboarding
    • Educational content
    • Market simulation and gamified trading
    • Community-driven insights

The convergence of financial literacy and mobile tech is reshaping India’s retail investing landscape, especially beyond metros.

Strong Backing & Funding Momentum

StockGro’s investor roster includes names like:

  • BITKRAFT Ventures
  • Mukul Agrawal (Param Capital)
  • Trifecta Capital
  • General Catalyst
  • Hindustan Media Ventures
  • Roots Ventures
  • SquareOne Capital

The back-to-back funding rounds reflect investor confidence in StockGro’s unit economics, market position, and product vision.

Strategic Focus: Advisory Depth, AI Tools, and Asset Diversification

With the fresh capital, StockGro aims to:

  • Expand into new regions, with deeper penetration into Tier II and III cities
  • Offer AI-based investment tools that personalize advice and improve decision-making
  • Integrate multi-asset class education and advisory, beyond just equities
  • Build a SEBI-compliant ecosystem for trust and regulatory credibility

This roadmap puts StockGro in the race with platforms like Groww, Sahi, Zerodha Varsity, and Smallcase — all vying for the attention of India’s growing investor base.
