Taiwan Is #1 Choice For Expats; India Features In Bottom

According to the Expat Insider 2021 survey, Taiwan, Mexico, and Costa Rica are the best expat destinations worldwide in 2021.

The one common thing about all these destinations is that all of them attract expats with their ease of settling in and good personal finances.

Top Findings Expat Insider 2021 Survey
The survey reveals that Taiwan stands at #1 as not a single expat feels personally unsafe there.

It has ranked 1st out of 59 destinations for the third year in a row in the Expat Insider 2021 survey.

In addition to that Taiwan also stands first in the Quality of Life and Working Abroad Indices.

Further, the survey mentioned that the Taiwanese healthcare system truly considers people as human beings instead of mere numbers.

While Mexico stands at #2 positions out of 59 destinations worldwide as it stands first worldwide for personal happiness.

One of the US American expat says that “the culture and friendliness of the local people” is their favorite thing about living in Mexico.

Further adding that I love the culture and friendliness of the local people.

Over nine in ten expats describe that in #3 Costa Rica, the population is generally friendly.

A US-American expat mentioned that I love the social life and culture in Costa Rica.

While countries like South Africa (#57) joins Kuwait (#59) and Italy (#58) are present in the bottom 3 of this survey.

Bottom Players
In the last eight years, Kuwait comes in the last place in the Expat Insider survey for the seventh time (59th out of 59 countries).

It ranks last in the Quality of Life Index (59th), with especially poor results in the Leisure Options, Personal Happiness, and Travel & Transportation subcategories (59th for all).

Apart from this, Kuwait is also revealed as the worst expat destination worldwide in the Ease of Settling In Index (59th), with 46% of expats not feeling at home in the local culture (vs. 20% globally).

While 45% finding it difficult to settle down in this country (vs. 22% globally). Moreover, 51% have trouble finding new friends (vs. 32% globally), and 62% find it difficult to make local friends in particular (vs. 36% globally).

If we talk about India, it stands at 51st position completing the list of the ten worst countries for expats.

While Russia (56th), Japan (54th) also joined the list of the ten worst countries for expats.
