New pricing model introduces ‘Premium Business’ and ‘Premium Organizations’ with added tools, checkmarks, and monetization perks
Verified Organizations Get a Makeover
X (formerly Twitter) has restructured its Verified Organizations subscription by splitting it into two distinct tiers:
- Premium Business (for commercial entities)
- Premium Organizations (for governments and multilateral bodies)
Each tier features unique checkmarks and benefits aimed at driving visibility and credibility on the platform.
- Gold checkmark for businesses
- Grey checkmark for government and public sector entities
Premium Business: Tools to Scale on X
The Premium Business tier is now positioned as a growth engine for companies of all sizes — from startups to global brands. It’s broken into three pricing levels:
- Basic ($200/month): Offers the essentials to establish your brand on X
- Full Access ($1,000/month): Adds affiliate accounts, priority handles, impersonation defense, fast support, and early access to features
- Enterprise (Custom pricing): Designed for large-scale organizations needing advanced tools and account management
Key features include:
- Gold verification badge for credibility
- Affiliate badges to link sub-brands or team accounts
- Advanced impersonation protection
- Hiring tools and real-time brand monitoring
- Access to SuperGrok, X’s advanced AI assistant
- Priority support and access to exclusive inactive handles
Handle Marketplace and Priority Claims
A standout addition to Premium Business is access to a handle marketplace:
- Businesses can claim inactive handles through priority access.
- High-value handles will be available for purchase, while general inactive handles may be claimed for free.
- This feature could reshape username scarcity on X and offer brand consistency opportunities.
Premium Organizations: Grey Badge, $1,000/Month
For governments and public sector entities, X now offers Premium Organizations at $1,000/month.
- Comes with a grey checkmark
- Offers similar credibility and support tools as Premium Business
- Designed for multilateral agencies, government offices, and verified public institutions
Revenue Push Amid Ad Struggles
X is still working to rebuild its ad business, and these premium tiers may help diversify revenue streams:
- The $200/month entry point offers a lower barrier for small businesses
- X is currently offering 100% of the subscription fee as ad credit for a limited time — a move aimed at enticing new signups
Aiming for the “Town Square”
Seth Fuchs of X Engineering emphasized the platform’s goals:
“We’re building for organizations that want to move fast, stay relevant, and grow directly on the world’s town square.”
With these changes, X positions itself as a marketing, hiring, and branding platform, expanding beyond basic microblogging.
